1991 Robert Phillips, Niccolo Paganini Caprice No. 24, Guitar Article with Tab / Sheet Music

Niccolo Paganini (1782-1840) was in many ways the first equivalent to today's rock star / guitar hero. With his flowing hair, flamboyant stage manner and controversial lifestyle, he set the standard that has been imitated by many and backed it up with virtuosic performances of his own pyrotechnic show-stoppers.

The 24th Caprice is probably Paganini's most famous composition. It is in the form of a theme and variation which means that the melody / harmony is given, then altered, but without changing the basic harmonic structure...
