There may be younger, more callow guitarists out there who are unaware of Robert Fripp. In a way, that is understandable. Fripp has been out of circulation through most of the 1980s, more content to work behind the scenes than on it. Yet, Fripp's contribution to contemporary rock guitar is inestimable. His aggressive flatpicking as founding (and sole continuous) member of King Crimson shaped every permutation of that group over the course of nearly 10 albums...
