Probably no other figure in the history of the guitar holds so much interest for the music historian as does Fernando Sor, the legendary Catalan composer and guitarist. His compositions for the guitar maintain the interest and command the respect of guitarists to a degree unmatched by any other composer for the instrument. It is no accident that this is so, for Sor's compositions are among the major creations of guitar literature.
